Newly opened Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute (CANSSI) will foster multi-sector collaborations

Vancouver’s new Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute (CANSSI) opened its doors officially on Friday, December 7, at an event attended by Simon Fraser University researchers who plan to use the data hub for their work applying advanced statistical science across many disciplines, from climate change to healthcare. CANSSI previously existed as a virtual institute; now, in partnership with SFU, the new headquarters will bring researchers together in person to collaborate on problems like combatting drug-resistant superbugs. CANSII hopes to facilitate collaborations between government, industry and academic researchers.
