NCIT announces first fellow under new program

Nortel Networks Corp has provided the first fellow under the new NCIT Fellowship Program of the National Capital Institute of Telecommunications, which is intended to retain highly qualified industry talent in the Ottawa region. Steven McGarry, a 20-year Nortel veteran, will conduct research at Carleton Univ pursuing a tailored industrial research track. NCIT plans to grant 10 fellowships by the end of 2002. Fellows work with their industrial partners on a monthly basis while completing their research at an area university.
