Instrumar to expand sensor technology applications

Instrumar Ltd, St John’s NF, has received $4.3 million from Technology Partnerships Canada to modify its sensor technology for synthetic polymer fibre production plants. The sensor technology will be applied to the production process by integrating electromagnetic sensors into production lines, increasing quality yields and efficient use of non-renewable resources, reducing scrap fibre and the need for off-line testing. The R&D project will include technology demonstrations at synthetic fibre plants and could be adapted for other manufacturing industries with similar sensing requirements….
