Graham Smith has been appointed principal engineer of West Bay Semiconductor Inc, a privately owned fabless semiconductor firm located in Vancouver. Smith brings more than 20 years experience in the microelectronics sector and will assist West Bay in gaining strategic advantage in the optical semiconductor market. After graduating with a BSc from the Univ of British Columbia in 1979, he joined Microtel, which later became MPR Teltech. He stayed there until 1988,then helped found PMC, the firm's microelectronics centre. In 1992, he co-founded PMC-Sierra, establishing design control procedures and methodologies to accelerate the product development cycle....
