George Hunter is stepping down as president of the British Columbia Technology Industries Association (BCTIA), to devote his energies to the presidency of Leading Edge BC, a provincially funded arm’s length organization that markets and promotes BC as a destination for technology firms. Hunter has served as the head of both organizations for the past 18 months. He headed up the BCTIA for seven years, building it into the most effective technology association in the province. Hunter began his career as a researcher with the Department of Fisheries. Prior to becoming the founding executive director of the BCTIA, he was executive director of the BC Biotechnology Alliance. Hunter sits on a number of company boards and committees including the Premier’s Technology Council. He holds an MA in resource management from Simon Fraser Univ….
