Genome British Columbia has announced that 12 projects will receive $3.2 million in seed funding under its Strategic Opportunities Fund (SOF). The 12 projects were selected for their ability to meet program criteria, scientific merit and the potential to impact the province in the areas of human health, forestry, fisheries, bioenergy, agriculture, mining and the environment. Genome BC provided $1.5 million in funding augmented by $1.7 million from various co-funders. This is the third series of awards under the SOF and a fourth competition has just been launched
