Foragen Technologies invests in US-based AniGenics

Foragen Technologies LP has joined with Champaign-Urbana Venture Fund LLC in a $2-million financing of Chicago-based AniGenics Inc. The privately held animal genomics firm will use the second-round equity financing to develop genetic markers for livestock production and disease resistance. AmiGen will develop assays for genes to help with selection of breeding stock or source verification of meat, milk and eggs. Guelph ON-based Foragen is one of four early-stage venture funds associated with Royal Bank Capital Corp....
