Dupont enters alliance with Canadian firms

Dupont, Wilmington DE, has struck a market development alliance agreement with Toronto's Integran Technologies Inc to develop nanocrystalline metal/polymer hybrid technology aimed at the automotive, consumer electronics and sporting goods markets. The alliance also involves Integran affiliate Morph Technologies Inc, also of Toronto, and PowerMetal Technologies Inc, Carlsbad CA. The new product will be branded MetaFuse and utilize nanometal/ polymer hybrids creating an integral metal cladding with a nanocrystalline grain structure. It will be offered through DuPont's Engineering Polymers Advanced Metals Replacement portfolio of products. Privately held Integran holds more than 100 patents for metallurgical nano-structures dealing with the structure, composition, processing and application of its nanomaterials….
