Dr Richard Hegele

Dr Richard Hegele has been appointed the Univ of Toronto's vice-dean, research and innovation for a five-year term effective January 1/16. Hegele will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of health and biomedical research in the Faculty of Medicine and collaborate with university and affiliated hospital partners to advance excellence, innovation and interdisciplinary health and biomedical research. He has been chair of U of T's Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology since 2009. Hegele received his MD degree from the U of T and PhD from the Univ of British Columbia….
