Dr Richard Bruno has been appointed director of McGill Univ’s office of technology transfer, overseeing a staff of 20. Bruno assumed his new duties earlier this year after more than three decades in the private sector. Over his career, he has established and sold several companies in Japan and the US. As a company executive, he is best known for his pioneering work in solar energy and compact discs, as well as multimedia, minitel, video conferencing, jpeg, mpeg, computer games and security systems.
