Dr Marie D'Iorio has been appointed executive director of the National Institute for Nanotechnology (NINT) after serving as its interim DG since last year, following the departure of Dr Nils Petersen. D'Iorio is an expert in nano-electronics and has worked at the National Research Council for nearly 30 years. She was DG of the NRC Institute for Microstructural Sciences from 2003 until 2011 when she joined NINT. As NINT's acting executive director, D'iorio led the development of a new strategic plan that reorganized its R&D activities and aims at increasing industrial collaboration. Her mandate is to further strengthen industry engagement....
