Dr Digvir Jayas has been appointed VP research at the Univ of Manitoba, replacing Dr Joanne Keselman who becomes VP academic and provost. Jayas moves to the VP position after serving for eight years as associate VP research. He holds the Canada Research Chair in stored-grain ecosystems and has conducted research in the areas of physical properties of agricultural products, modified atmosphere storage of grains and digital image processing for grading and process operations in the agri-food industry. Jayas holds degrees from the GB Pant Univ of Agriculture and Technology (Pantnagar, India), Univ of Manitoba and Univ of Saskatchewan. He is a member of the Composite Innovation Centre, Genome Prairie and Manitoba Health Research Council….
