Dr Charith Adkar

Dr Charith Adkar is the new chief science officer of medicinal cannabis producer MYM Nutraceuticals Inc. As CSO, he will handle the firm’s scientific, research and technological operations at the Laval and Weedon production facilities. Adkar’s expertise covers plant science, biotechnology, microbiology, molecular host-pathogen interactions and bioinformatics. Adkar obtained his PhD in plant biology and crop production specializing in molecular plant pathology from the Univ of Milano, Italy. He finished his postdoctoral studies at Hirosaki Univ, Japan and Univ de Sherbrooke, Canada. Rob Gietl, CEO of MYM, says Adkar will be instrumental in leading MYM to be a global innovator in the science and technology of medicinal cannabis. MYM is looking to acquire licenses from Health Canada to produce and sell medical cannabis supplements and topical products.
