Dr Bruce Clayman

Dr Bruce Clayman has been appointed inaugural president of Great Northern Way Campus (GNWC), a new academic consortium founded by four British Columbia-based institutions (see ‘Briefs’ on this page). He is the outgoing VP research at Simon Fraser Univ and was recently elected director of SFU’s director of the Centre for Policy Research on Science and Technology (CPROST). In addition to his 11-year stint as SFU’s VP research, Clayman was also dean of graduate studies from 1985 to 2000. Other positions he has held include president, Discovery Parks Inc, president, Canadian Association for Graduate Studies, president, Canadian Association of University Research Administrators and president, SF Univentures, SFU’s for-profit commercialization arm. Clayman also sits on the boards of several other organizations and recently founded the Western Universities Technology Innovation Fund. He will phase in his duties at GNWC over the summer before assuming full time status in September….
