Dr Brian Barge has been appointed president of the Canadian Microelectronics Corp (CMC), Kingston ON, replacing Dr Tony Marsh who is retiring. Barge has nearly 30 years experience in the technology sector, including a 24-year stint at the Alberta Research Council where he rose to president/ CEO. Most recently, he served as president of the Ottawa Economic Development Corp for more than four years. He joins the CMC as the microelectronics sector is undergoing explosive growth and is participating in a bid to increase funding for microelectronics research and training. Barge holds a physics degree from the Univ of Saskatchewan and an MA and PhD in meteorology from McGill Univ....
