CRTI ready to receive calls for proposals

The federal government’s $170-million Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear Research & Technology Initiative (CRTI) is holding is holding a half-day event in Ottawa on May 10 to announce that it is ready to receive proposals. The fund, announced shortly after the last federal Budget, is intended to bring government labs, industry and academia together to develop joint programs in key areas to improve Canada’s ability to respond to terrorist threats (R$, January 23/02). The competitive process being implemented by CRTI is modeled on the Network
