CRTI program awards $30 million to 20 new projects

The latest round of the centerpiece fund of Defence R&D Canada (DRDC) has resulted in $30 million being awarded to 20 projects. Administered by the Centre for Security Science — a joint program between DRDC and Public Safety Canada — the multisectoral projects address Canada's ability to deal with potential chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats. The program's official name is Chemical, Biological, Radiological-Nuclear and Explosives Research and Technology Initiative (CRTI) which was launched in 2002 and renewed in 2006.
