COM DEV acquires EMS assets from MDA

COM DEV International Ltd has acquired portions of the EMS Space & Technologies - Montreal Division of MacDonald Dettwiler & Associates Ltd (MDA) for $5 million and an additional $1 million pending certain milestones. Formerly EMS Canada, the Montreal division was acquired just last month by MDA from EMS Technologies Inc, Atlanta GA. It develops antenna subsystems, microwave components and other devices for the commercial space sector. The deal includes the Ottawa-based space science and optical payload operations and the search and rescue transponder line. As part of the agreement, COM DEV will also acquire the assets of Ottawa’s Digital Space Systems Inc, a software developer....
