College R&D projects awarded nearly $36 million

Two key support programs for college R&D have announced $35.9 million in grants for 38 projects across Canada. The flagship College and Community Innovation (CCI) program made $34 million in awards, bringing the total awarded since the program's 2009 launch to $293.3 million. The awards — managed by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council on behalf of the three granting councils — range from as little as $67,000 to the maximum of $2.3 million. In addition, the College Industry Innovation Fund (CIIF) program (managed by the Canada Foundation for Innovation) — awarded nearly $1.9 million to enhance industry collaboration with industry-relevant infrastructure….
