CME to broaden scope of S&T Network

The Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) association is revamping its committee structure and expanding its S&T Network to include standards and logistics. CME will be presenting a revised committee structure for discussion and review by the CME board later this spring. A CME official says the new Network will maintain its focus on innovation but include additional aspects, with more manufacturers sitting on the committee overseeing the Network.The S&T Network was formed following the demise in the late 1990s of the Association of Provincial Research Organizations (APRO). The Network had more than 100 members and was operated by director Debbie Pelletier. The committee was chaired by Trevor Cornell of the Industrial Technology Centre, Winnipeg. Pelletier’s position has been eliminated. Other committees to be reorganized include trade and policy and trade and development....
