CMC Microsystems opens second collaboratory centre

CMC Microsystems has officially opened the second of four specialized laboratories that comprise the $23-million National Microelectronics and Photonics Testing Collaboratory. Located in Winnipeg at the Univ of Manitoba, the $1.9-million Advanced RF Systems Laboratory will be accessible to researchers across Canada and beyond over CA*net 4, the high-speed research network owned and operated by CANARIE Inc. The official launch of the Advanced Digital Systems Lab at the Univ of Toronto took place earlier this year. Announcements are pending for the Advanced Photonic Systems Lab at Queen's Univ and the Advanced Mixed-Signal Systems Lab at McGill Univ. Primary funding for the collaboratory was provided by the Canada Foundation for Innovation and the Ontario Innovation Trust….
