CLS partners with US Advanced Photo Source

The Canadian Light Source (CLS) has signed a partner user agreement with the Advanced Photon Source (APS) that will expand the research time available to Canadian scientists to use that facility's X-ray light source facilities. APS — housed at the US Department of Energy's Agronne National Laboratory — uses X-ray techniques that are different but complementary to the CLS's synchrotron radiation technology for probing materials to understand their chemical and structural behaviour. Scientists from both facilities will also collaborate on improving light source technology and upgrading two beamlines in four key areas.
