CANARIE issues call for $2-million competition

CANARIE Inc has issued a $2-million competition through its Infrastructure Extension Program (IEP) to enhance high-speed networking capabilities in Canadian education institutions, government labs, the private sector, cultural institutions and big science facilities. The IEP funds are intended to boost bandwidth, make connections to other institutions, and facilitate access to major scientific equipment and facilities for a distributed community of users. The IEP has awarded $13 million to date to government labs and educational organizations. Users have found the IEP to be an effective mechanism for leveraging existing S&T investments, resulting in enhanced access and utilization of research and education facilities….
