Canadians rank biotech research highly: survey

The vast majority of Canadians support biotechnology research and the use of financial incentives to encourage industry innovation, according to a new national survey commissioned by BIOTECanada. The August/08 survey of 1,001 Canadians found that 87% and 81% respectively support the above two questions, while 88% believe biotech is important to Canada's future prosperity. Quebec residents particularly back biotech research, with 92% expressing support.
