Bradley Ashley has been appointed president of the Canadian venture Capital Association (CVCA) at a time when venture capital (VC) investment is plunging due to shrinking foreign investment, slumping public markets and the telecommunications meltdown. Ashley is the founder and managing partner of PRIVEQ Capital Funds, Toronto-based, an eight-year-old private VC firm. He was previously a senior manager with Ernst & Young’s corporate finance practice and assistant treasurer with JP Morgan. Ashley replaces John Eckert, who will continue his participation with the CVCA as chairman. Ashley has been a CVCA director since 1992 has been a member of its executive committee since 1998. He is a graduate of Osgoode Law School, Schulich School of Business and holds an undergraduate degree in mathematics….
