The BC Innovation Council has launched its Ignite Awards program with the selection of four research projects in natural resources and applied sciences. BCIC awarded $838,000 to the projects which leveraged more than $1.8 million from other sources. To be eligible, the projects must demonstrate commercial and technical viability as well as the ability to be market ready in three years. Professors and their corporate partners at the Univ of British Columbia won three awards while a project at the Univ of Northern British Columbia picked up the fourth prize.
