AVAC boosts lifetime investments to $129 million

Investments by AVAC Ltd have reached $129 million with $12 million in three new investments in the past quarter. The largest was a $10-million investment in iNovia Investment Fund III LP (R$, December 22/11), followed by $11.75 million in Edmonton-based Radient Technologies Inc for a microwave assisted processing extraction facility and $500,000 in Beiseker AB-based Decisive Farming, which provides high-speed internet access and mobile computing devices for farm management. To date, AVAC has invested in more than 115 early-stage Alberta firms, 50 agricultural research projects and programs and four national venture capital funds….
