Apple acquires BC’s Buddybuild

Another American tech giant has set its sights on Canada and conquered. Vancouver, BC’s Buddybuild announced on its website that it is now part of Apple Inc. and its Xcode engineering group. No financial details were disclosed nor has Apple officially and formally announced the acquisition, but it was announced by Buddybuild and comfirmed by Apple in an article from TechCrunch, a San Francisco-based online publisher of technology industry news. Buddybuild said it will stay put in Canada to continue developing for iOS. The firm also announced that it will stop accepting new customers and developing apps for the competing Android operating system effective March 1. On its website, Buddybuild said it was launched in October 2015 and is a creator of a mobile app development platform. Xcode is Apple’s suite of software for developing apps for its operating systems – the MacOS, mobile iOS, watchOS and Apple TV OS.
