Aheeva licenses voice recognition technology

Montreal’s Aheeva Inc has licensed speech platform technology from InfoSpace Inc, Bellevue WA, to develop mobile speech applications providing access to information on the web via wired and wireless telephone. The multilingual applications include speech recognition, natural speech understanding, speech synthesis and speaker verification. The first bilingual products will focus on stock quotes, weather conditions, currency conversion and location-based information such as restaurants, taxi services and movies. InfoSpace speech technology platforms are designed to support various standards and technologies and are open to third-party developers such as Aheeva or can be combined with applications also developed by the firm.
