Universities and colleges enter collaboration agreement

Canada's universities and colleges have released a first-ever Framework for Collaboration, establishing a partnership offering students a continuum of pathways and choices required for building human capital required for success in the global knowledge economy. The framework was signed by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada and Colleges and Institutes Canada (former the Association of Community Colleges of Canada). The two groups represent more than 2.5 million students at 228 postsecondary institutions. They agreed to a suite of eight principles and an action plan promoting the need for enhanced resources to government partners, requirements for greater information and data sharing, raising public awareness of their collaborative efforts and profiling success stories in student pathways.
