Ryerson home to new Centre for Urban Energy

Three public utilities have committed $7 million in seed funding to establish the Centre for Urban Energy (CUE) at Ryerson Univ. The CUE will take a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to study a wide range of issues from demand management and local energy storage to carbon footprint reduction and smart infrastructure. The contributing utilities are Hydro One ($2.5 million), Toronto Hydro-Electric System Ltd (Toronto Hydro) ($2.5 million) and Ontario Power Authority ($2 million). Funding will be used to support research projects ($900,000 annually), student awards and fellowships….
