The Québec government committed nearly $5.4 million over the next four years to support the activities of Réseau M, a mentorship network aimed at entrepreneurs. Participants in the network now include 1,150 mentors and 2,500 mentored entrepreneurs. Réseau M is managed by the Québec Entrepreneurship Foundation, whose main activities are mentorship and publishing the Entrepreneurial Index Quebec. The funding is part of Quebec’s Government Action Plan for Entrepreneurship (PAGE), a $345.7-million program to enhance competitiveness, foster economic growth, and increase employment in the province. Over the next five years, PAGE aims to increase the number of new businesses in Quebec by an average of 2,000 more per year, and to increase the number of high-growth businesses by an average of about 50 more per year.
