Pfizer contributes $4.5M to Alzheimer's research

Pfizer Canada is contributing $4.5 million to a fund that will support the creation of a consortium of Quebec-based researchers for Alzheimer's disease and support high-risk, high-spinoff projects. The funding goes to the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé which will manage the Pfizer-FRQS Innovation Fund for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders. Among its intended outcomes are an Alzheimer's patient data registry and a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying the disease by exploring research hypotheses that have never been tested.
