Iain Stewart who has departed for academia (see below). Davies is a veteran senior federal bureaucrat who has worked with several departments over his career including Privy Council Office regional and economic development policy and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (policy branch). Since joining Industry Canada, he has held several positions including DG human resources branch, service to business branch and the investment review division. Most recently he has been acting CFO of the comptrollership and administration sector. Davies holds a MBA from Queen's Univ and a BA from the Univ of Manitoba….

Iain Stewart has been appointed assistant VP research at Dalhousie Univ effective September 1st. Stewart will work with recently appointed VP research Dr Martha Crago (R$, Mar 11/08) with responsibility for ocean science, policy, innovation and partnerships. Stewart comes to Dalhousie from Industry Canada where he held several key positions since 2005 in the areas of science and innovation policy. He also served as a special advisor to Technology Partnerships Canada where he assisted in its re-design. Most recently he was associate assistant DM of the science and innovation sector. Prior to joining the department, he was with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency where he worked on the Atlantic Innovation Fund. A native of Nova Scotia, Stewart holds degrees in political science, marine affairs and public administration from Dalhousie Univ….
