Hydro One contributes $2.5 million to Univ of Waterloo

Hydro One is contributing $2.5 million to the Univ of Waterloo to pursue research projects into clean energy technologies, train graduate students and the planning of transmission projects. The funding will be managed by the Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy (WISE) and has three components: a Hydro One Chair in Power Engineering ($1.5 million), endowment of two graduate scholarships ($500,000) and a new research fund ($500,000). More than 70 faculty are engaged with WISE and work in multidisciplinary research teams from utilities, government agencies and industry….
