Humber College has received $10 million from the Barrett Family Foundation to support the new Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation (Barrett CTI), scheduled to open in 2019. The largest in the college's history, the private donation will help fund skill development in technology and experiential, career-oriented learning for students. The gift follows a previous $5-million donation to Humber in 2016, and the foundation has also promised an additional $5 million to support leading-edge technology and programs for students. The Barrett CTI will build on Humber’s expertise in automation and robotics, systems integration, and other fields by providing advanced technology for applied research and project-based learning in collaboration with the private sector.
