Genomics bioinformatics receive $11 million

Genome Canada will invest $5 million in 17 projects worth nearly $11 million through its latest Bioinformatics and Computational Biology competition. The funding leverages $1.4 million from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and an additional $4.5 million secured by the regional genome centres from provincial governments, industry and other partners. The projects are a mix of large-scale applied and small-scale innovative initiatives designed to produce new tools and methodologies for improving genomics data management and analysis that are challenged by huge amounts of data generated by genomics applications….
