CLS receives first major piece of equipment

The Canadian Light Source (CLS) has commissioned it first major operating subsystem with the installation of a refurbished linear accelerator. Construction on the $173-million synchrotron is on schedule and slated for completion in early 2004.The linear accelerator has received a new computerized control system and upgraded heat exchangers. The CLS was approved in March 1999 with assistance from the Canada Foundation for Innovation....
