CIHR launches SUPPORT Unit in Newfoundland

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research is launching a SUPPORT Unit in Newfoundland. The provincial SUPPORT (Support for People and Patient-Oriented Research and Trials) Unit will receive $19.8 million from CIHR, the Government of Newfoundland and IBM, which is providing cash and in-kind support. The unit will connect players in the health care ecosystem to facilitate patient-oriented research and attract, retain and mentor researchers. The first SUPPORT Unit was launched in November/13 in Alberta. Newfoundland completes the program's roll-out....
