CHRP announces latest round of projects

The Collaborative Health Research Projects (CHRP) program has awarded $19 million to 37 projects to assist researchers in interdisciplinary, patient-oriented collaborations between researchers in the fields of natural sciences , engineering and the health sciences. The program is a joint venture between the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council. Projects must be oriented towards new health care treatments and technologies. CHRP was launched by NSERC in 1999 with CIHR joining as a partner in 2003. Last year, the National Research Council committed $9 million to support projects in the areas of medical resonance and photonics applications used in medical imaging.
