CANARIE funds nine new media applications projects

CANARIE Inc has announced funding of $1.5 million to support nine projects under its Applied Research in New Media (ARIM) program. Jointly funded by CANARIE and Canadian Heritage, ARIM is designed to generate Canadian content and culture in a broadband environment. The projects are headed by: Acadia Univ, APR Inc, Delvinia, Immersion Studios, Live Wires Inc, Ryerson Univ, Sonic Designs Inc and Video Verite Artist Centre. They were unveiled June 2 in Toronto at the Canadian New Media Awards. There are now more than 1,100 new media companies in Canada….
