Budget for York's health care tech project reaches $34.5M

York Univ's efforts to commercialize new health care technologies has been boosted by a $15-million grant from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). The institution's new project — The Health Ecosphere: An Innovation Pipeline for Commercial Health Solutions — has also received $19.5 million from 32 partners developing three dozen health care technologies, bringing the project's total budget to $34.5 million. The lead clinical partner for the project is the Southlake Regional Health Centre and the key academic partner is the University Health Network.
