BC-China projects receive $4 million in funding

A joint British Columbia-China program has announced $4 million in funding for eight projects aligned with priority areas in the province's new Research and Innovation Strategy (R$, July 3/07). The projects were funded under the Innovation and Commercialization Strategic Development Program (ICSD), an initiative of the BC Innovation Council. The majority of projects are university-to-university collaborations although other organizations are involved including the National Research Council, Environment Canada, Canadian Forest Service and Canadian Organic Greenhouse Association.
